The University of Oregon Applied Information Management program ran from 1986 to 2020. The program was formed as a partnership between Tektronix and the university as a unique and interdisciplinary curriculum that thrived from the open collaboration between faculty and business partners. In 2001 the program became the University of Oregon’s first fully online program. Students studied four interrelated information management disciplines: information management, information design, business management, and applied research. Graduates have spanned the globe, and the flexibility of the model was equally embraced by students juggling full-time professions and a demanding graduate program, as well as active military studying in Iran and Afghanistan and a submarine commander studying while stationed on a submarine. Graduates of the AIM Program continue to make an impact in a wide variety of professions and industries and across geographic boundaries.
